Carole was an incredible woman. I have just been thinking back to all of the youth residentials we spent together with the ROOTS leaders and young people. She was brilliant at remembering what each young person (and leaders) loved to eat, and often chatted with them over her food prep, making sure that those who were on the fringes felt included. We also had amazing laughs, whether it was blasting Gloria Gaynor in the kitchen at Gilwell Park with Trevor at 7am whilst making scrambled eggs, giggling over a guy called Raymond who seemed to be stalking Carole at Standlake Ranch, or starting our own underground sweet shop at Soul Survivor, which made epic profits! Carole worked so hard on those weekends, and yet always had time to chat with anyone who needed her help. Quite a remarkable woman..a real life force! I will miss her so much,, but will always continue to remember those youth days with huge fondness. I know how proud she was of you Katy and James, and of her grandchildren too. She couldn't stop talking about you all - her massive love for you was clear for all to see. Much love to you XXXX
